BMW DELIVERS MORE THAN 100,000 ELECTRIFIED VEHICLES IN 2017
Posted On: December 20, 2017 By : supervisorThe BMW Group has delivered more than 100,000 electrified vehicles worldwide in 2017. After the light installation, the BMW Group headquarter has been transformed into a battery to mark the milestone on the road to the mobility of the future.
The Group selected this glowing symbol to represent the technological change taking place in mobility. Since the introduction of the BMW i3 2013, the group has already delivered 200,000 electrified cars to its customers. The BMW group’s plans to expand its position in the premium mobility and mobility services.
The Electrified models are in high demand in western Europe and the USA. In Scandinavia, the BMW i3 is the best-selling BMW model and one in four BMWs sold is electrified. While in Germany, new registrations of fully-electric and plug-in hybrid BMW group vehicle reached more than 10,000 units this year. In 2017, every tenth model of the BMW 3 Series Sedan delivered to customers worldwide are electrified. While 13 percent of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer sold were plug-in hybrids.
Along with the four-wheel vehicles, the group also manufactures two-wheeled product for urban mobility: the BMW C evolution. With the introduction of a new battery, extending the scooter’s range to 160 km which has increased the sales by 80%. The 1,500 units sold around the world are in addition to the 100,000 electrified automobiles the company has sold in 2017.
