E’s Nest Pump Up Fest 2014

The cycling culture has become very popular in Nepal, and to make sure that it is headed in the right track, E’s Nest Bike Park has been running Nepal’s first pump track training centre. The pump track, located at Dhobighat, allows cyclists to hone the skills that are useful in both downhill and cross-country riding.

On 1st March 2014, the pump track hosted the E’s Nest Pump Fest 2014. The event was managed by Hub events and sponsored by Commencal, Hello Paisa, ESET, TravelMakers, Redbull Nepal, QFX Cinemas, Kali Protectives, Taas N Tawa, Republica, AutoLife, Funn, Nescafe, Epic Rides Nepal, Chain Bikes, Maxxis and WD-40, and supported by Nepal Cycling association, Himalayan Single Track, Grind Customs, Panc Bikes and Epic Mountain Bike. The event was carried out to encourage and promote cycling and extreme sports in Nepal, and to make sure that these practices were carried out in a well-managed and safe manner. With a pump track that was built to meet international standards, there definitely couldn’t have been a better venue for the event.

The main attractions of the event were the Dirt Jump, Big Air, Berm Speed and Pump Track where the participants laid it all on the line to impress the judges Gavin Platt and Umang Shrestha. Even the unexpected rain wasn’t able to dampen the spirits of the contestants and the onlookers. The event went on according to plan and everyone had a great time performing as well as watching the skills of the participants. Prizes for the winners of the events were sponsored by Himalayan Single Track, Grind Customs, Panc Bikes and Epic Mountain Bike.
