LAUNCHED IN INDIA: MAHINDRA KUV100

(M & M), has finally launched its much-awaited comapct SUV, the Mahindra KUV100 (pronounced as KUV ‘1 double Oh’) in India at a starting price of INR 4.42 lakh for the Petrol version and INR 5.22 lakh for the Diesel version.mahindrakuv100launchedindiaBuilt on an all-new monocoque platform and designed in-house with contemporary urban crossover cues, the KUV100 sports beefy and aggressive front fascia, chiseled muscular body, high beltline and large square wheel arches lending it the SUV stance. The unique-looking design is further complemented by wraparound sunglass-like headlamps, trendy daytime running lamps, chrome-accented front and rear fog lamps, spider-design alloy wheels, stylish roof rails, sporty rear spoiler, and body side cladding.mahindrakuv100launchedindia2The Mahindra KUV100 is offered in two seating configurations – a standard 5-seater and a unique first-in-class flexi 6-seater which can also be converted to a large armrest for the driver and co-driver.  Being a monocoque SUV, the KUV100 is a front-wheel drive vehicle.Under the hood, the Mahindra KUV100 will be powered by an all-new mFALCON petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine, mFalcon G80, which marks the company’s entry into the petrol space is a 1.2-litre unit that churns out 82bhp and develops 114Nm of peak torque. The new 1.2-litre mFalcon D75, is a turbocharged common-rail diesel engine that makes 77bhp along with a peak torque of 190Nm. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. According to the company, the KUV100 returns an impressive mileage of 25.32Km/l and 18.15Km/l for diesel and petrol, respectively. Mahindra KUV100 also comes equipped with the company’s Hybrid technology with engine start/stop feature and two driving modes – Power and Eco.mahindrakuv100launchedindia1The Mahindra KUV100 comes equipped with an Independent McPherson strut front suspension and a semi-independent twist beam rear suspension. The Cayman Dynamics-tuned suspension delivers car-like ride and handling.mahindrakuv100launchedindia3Inside, the Mahindra KUV100 gets premium dual-tone interiors with piano black inserts, sporty joystick-like gearshift, mood lighting inside door handles, unique flat-folding rear seat and innovative under-floor and under-seat storage spaces. Other convenience features on the Mahindra KUV100 include an Infotainment System with TFT display screen, Driver Information System, Steering-mounted audio & phone controls with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, Electrically adjustable ORVMs, Mahindra Blue Sense App compatibility, height adjustable driver’s seat and , tilt adjustable three-spoke steering wheel among others.mahindrakuv100launchedindia6In terms of safety, it will get ABS, EBD, and an engine immobilizer as standard provisions, along with the optional dual airbags.
