Mitsubishi has launched its all-new Outlander SUV in a single fully-loaded variant in India. The SUV marks the Japanese brand’s first all-new model launch in six years for the Indian market. The Mitsubishi Outlander that arrived in India was on sale in international markets as a facelift since 2015, and has been brought in as a CBU.
The new Outlander has a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that is tuned to produced 167hp and 222Nm of torque. The motor is paired to a six-step CVT automatic that powers all-four wheels permanently. However the diesel engine Outlander is not expected to enter the Indian market.
The new Outlander has a seven-seat configuration with the second and third rows that can fold flat to open up more luggage space. The model is the top-spec trim, which features equipment such as auto headlights and wipers, an electric sunroof, keyless go, an electric parking brake, paddle shifters for the CVT automatic, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system.
In terms of safety, the Outlander gets six airbags, hill-start assist and active stability control for better driving experience.
