Crossmandu National Championship 2016 , Nepal’s first motocross championship, took place succesfully at Tinkune, Kathmandu. The three-stage race saw almost 45 off-road dirt bike riders c0mpeting on a 550m off-road track under the supervision of trained marshals.
The day-long motocross event saw Oscar Shrestha emerging victorious while Prashant Karki and Suraj Dandegulu were the runner-ups. The winners took home Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, medals and certificates.
Organized by Nepal Motorcycle Federation (NMF) in association with Nepal Automobiles’ Association (NASA), FIM and Kathmandu District Development Committee, the first-of-a-kind event was organized to promote off-road racing in Nepal.
