ROYAL ENFIELD DISCONTINUES CONTINENTAL GT 535 INSTEAD CONTINENTAL GT 650 TO TAKE ITS PLACE
Posted On: January 8, 2018 By : supervisorThe Continental GT 535 has been Royal Enfield’s flagship till now, but now it plans to revise the flagship model to the Continental GT 650. The upcoming flagship 650 stays true to the café racer styling. The Continental GT features an angular tank, clip-on handlebars and accessories in the form of a fly screen and a solo seat with a rear cowl.
The GT 650 will be powered by a 648cc, air-cooled, SOHC, fuel-injected parallel-twin motor that produces 47 Hp at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm assisted with six-speed gear box with a slip-assist clutch. The new Continental GT 650 is equipped with a conventional telescopic fork, with a single disc up front and a smaller disc at the rear.
ABS are a standard and suspension duty at the rear is handled by gas-charged twin shock absorbers with a piggyback reservoir. Double-cradle tubular steel frame will also be used in the bike, which will be developed from scratch by RE’s UK Technology Centre and Harris Performance.
