The all-new 2017 Suzuki Swift, Suzuki’s global flagship compact car with innovative styling and high driving performance, has been introduced in the Japanese market. The model for overseas markets including India will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. The Swift is Suzuki’s flagship compact car sold more than 5.3 million units worldwide since its launch in 2004* as a world strategic model.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift gets extensive exterior and interior changes.It measures 3,840 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,500 mm/1,525 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.
The exterior features distinctive and sporty styling, and both superb driving performance and low-fuel consumption achieved through an excellent handling inherited and further enhanced from its predecessor, the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild hybrid system, a fuel efficient 1.2-litre DUALJET engine with high thermal efficiency, and light and rigid new-generation platform “HEARTECT”. The RS variant will be powered by 1.0L Boosterjet direct-injection turbo engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, the new 2017 Swift features all-new dashboard, touchscreen infotainment system, twin-pod instrument cluster, multi-function three spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel and new upholstery. It will also come equipped with a host of comfort and convenience feature likes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth AUX and USB connectivity and Adaptive Cruise Control, etc.
Fulfilling safety equipment and driving support functions through such equipment, the 2017 Swift has been largely evolved in all aspects. Apart from various active and passive safety features, the new-gen Swift also gets an optional “Safety Package” which includes the Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) collision-mitigating system.
