2018 ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM LAUNCHED IN INDIA
Posted On: February 25, 2018 By : AutoLife TeamRolls-Royce has launched the 2018 Phantom in India at Rs 9.5 crore for the standard wheelbase version and Rs 11.35 crore for the extended wheelbase version, making it the most expensive car currently on sale in India.
Doing duty under the hood is a 6.75-litre, twin-turbo, V12 petrol motor that churns out 571hp at 5,000rpm and a humongous 900Nm of peak torque at 1,700rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The standard Phantom is 5.7m long, while the extended wheelbase version is nearly six metres (5,982mm) in length, with a wheelbase of 3,772mm. Build on the all-new aluminium spaceframe platform, the new eighth-generation Phantom is lighter and 30 percent more rigid than the previous car.
The spaceframe platform will also underpin future Rolls-Royce models including the brand’s first ever SUV, the Cullinan. Other creature comforts include the Starlight roof, that can be set to replicate a night sky, a champagne chiller and flutes, buttons to open and close the doors and, of course, extensive use of sound deadening in a bid to make this the quietest car in the world.
