All you need to know about the ‘Changan Alsvin’

In the Chinese language, ‘CHANG’ means lasting and ‘AN’ means safety–together, Changan represents the idea of ‘lasting safety’. Changan, with 35 years of experience in the automobile industry, is China’s No. 1 passenger vehicle manufacturer. The company currently offers over 30 vehicles in the global market.

Changan debuted in Nepal in 2021 by launching the Alsvin–a luxury sedan powered by a 1.4L BlueCore engine. The authorised seller of Changan vehicles in Nepal is MAW Vriddhi Autocorp.

Design

The vehicle gets a butterfly-styled front grille–with the upper wings extended to the electrically adjustable dual-beam projector headlamp on either side and lower wings extended to the DRLs (integrated with ORVM). On the rear, the car gets an LED tail light (which combines a reverse lamp and fog light), and licence-plate light.

On the interior, the sedan comes with leather-and-cloth upholstered seats, and the driver and front passenger seats can be adjusted manually in four ways. The dashboard features a height-adjustable steering wheel with mounted audio controls and behind it is a digital instrument cluster.
As for the infotainment system, the sedan comes equipped with a seven-inch floating touchscreen display that is integrated with Human Machine Interface (HMI).

Engine and drivetrain

The Alsvin is powered by a 1.4L BlueCore engine that generates a power of 99 bhp and a torque of 135 Nm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Furthermore, the inside of the bonnet gets an aluminium alloy with engine-bay cladding that reduces engine noise.

Features

The sedan comes with a plethora of convenient  features such as AC vents, remote key, height-adjustable steering wheel, cruise control,  power-adjustable ORVM, parking sensor, USB charging socket, reverse-driving display, intelligent start/stop technology, and electronic trunk-open control.

For safety, the car comes with features such as dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, warning light, voice prompt, immobiliser, three-point seat belts, ISOFIX, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.

Specifications

The Alsvin is 4390mm long, 1725mm wide, and 1490mm tall. The wheelbase and ground clearance are 2535mm and 150mm, respectively. The car comes with a 40-litre fuel tank capacity and provides an average mileage of 18 kmpl. Also, the five-seater sedan boasts 736 litres of boot space.
