Changan Auto’s Hunter and Alsvin engines garner Guinness Book Record

This year, the company launched a premium lifestyle pickup, the Hunter. Both vehicles are powered by Changan’s own Blue Core engine. The powerful engine has now garnered a Guinness World Record for running for the longest duration, during a live video broadcast.

The online live broadcast was held at the Chongqing Changan Auto Global R&D centre. Changan achieved the feat by keeping their Blue Core high-pressure direct-injection engine running for 259 hours straight, at an rpm above 5500. The engine did not show any sign of wear or tear over the event.

The Blue Core in-line 4 cylinder engine comes with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and a Dual OverHead Cam (DOHC). The optimised internal combustion system in the Blue Core powertrain is capable of reducing fuel consumption by 20% and carbon emission by 40%, without compromising the overall vehicle performance. The engine provides a powerful, quiet, and clean driving experience.
The Blue Core engine was also deemed a 2020 ‘China Core Top 10 Engine’ in the past.
