Changan’s Hunter pickup garners good response in Nepal

Within the two months of its launch in Nepal, the Changan Hunter has received its first 30 bookings. The premium lifestyle pickup, which offers both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options, has been test-driven by 412 drivers up-to-date and has been receiving overwhelming response.

MAW Vriddhi Autocorp Pvt Ltd, the official importer of Changan vehicles in Nepal, had launched the Hunter–a diesel-powered pickup–at an introductory price of Rs 75.50 lakh.

Engine

The Hunter is powered by a 1.9L turbo diesel engine–mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission–that generates a power of 150 hp and a torque of 350 Nm. The pickup comes with either a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive option. Furthermore, it offers two driving modes: Eco and Sports.


Specifications

The double-cabin pickup is 5330mm long, 1930mm wide, and 1835mm tall–with a wheelbase of 3180mm and a ground clearance of 231mm.  Furthermore, it is capable of accommodating five persons, leaving 1297 litres of cargo space and with about 1000kg of cargo capacity.

Features

The Hunter might come with a seven-inch infotainment system (as standard), which can further be upgraded to 10 inches for higher variants. As for convenience, the vehicle might come with features such as hydraulic power steering, steering-mounted buttons, keyless-entry system (with push-start button), power windows, rear AC vents, cruise control, and phone mirroring.

The pickup is expected to come with safety features such as dual airbags (driver and passenger), front-row side airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-start assist control, hill-descent control, brake-assist system, traction-control system, rear-parking sensors, and tyre-pressure monitoring system.
