Five most affordable 4×4 SUVs in Nepal

Although four-wheel drive vehicles are heavier, more costly, and less fuel-efficient than their two-wheel drive counterparts, Nepalis often prefer 4×4 models for their powerful engine, better traction and grip, and added convenience and safety features. The four-wheel drive system can have many variations (such as 4×2, 4×4, and even 2×2) and such vehicles (with automatic transmission) come with an automatic switch that allows an easy transition from 2WD to 4WD, depending on the road conditions.

Here are the five most-affordable 4×4 SUV models available in Nepal.

Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra’s Scorpio is one of the iconic SUVs in Nepal. The SUV is the most successful model in the Mahindra lineup largely due to its practicality and off-roading capability. And the vehicle comes at an affordable price too.

The Scorpio is powered by a 2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine that generates a power of 120 bhp at 4000 rpm and a torque of 280 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The SUV is offered with a shift-on-fly four-wheel drive system. Among the vehicle’s notable features are its automatic temperature control, cruise control, dual airbags, ABS, panic brake indicator, 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera with dynamic assist, and rain and light sensors, depending on the variant.
