Nepal-bound Citroen C3 launched in India at INR 5.71 lakh
Posted On: July 20, 2022 By : Shuva Raj KhatriCitroen has launched a new hatchback–the C3–in India. Unlike the company’s premium model–the C5 Aircross–the C3 is based on the C-cubed platform, which is manufactured in a Tamil Nadu based manufacturing facility. The hatchback comes in two petrol-engine options, and it is offered in two variants: the Feel and the Live, at a starting price of INR 5.71–which goes up to INR 8.06 lakh.

Citroen has for some time been planning to introduce the India-made C3 hatchback as its second offering here. The hatchback is expected to arrive in Nepal soon after the import ban is lifted.
Get to know more about the vehicle:
Design and features
The C3 is a B-segment hatchback that gets SUV-like styling. The hatchback is 3981 mm long, 1733 mm wide, and 1586 mm tall. It comes with a 2540 mm wheelbase, which is usually the standard in a typical SUV.

In terms of design, the hatchback gets a matte black grille at the front, and above it sits Citroen’s trademark Chevron logo, which is extended by a chrome bar to the DRLs. The vehicle comes in four solid and six dual-tone colour options. Inside, the five-seater hatchback gets a roomier space (due to its large wheelbase), while still leaving a boot capacity of 315 litres.

Among the hatchback’s notable interior features include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system (compatible with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto), flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, and USB chargers, among others.
Engine
The C3 will be offered in two petrol-engine options: a 1.2 L naturally aspirated and a 1.2 L turbocharged one. The naturally aspirated engine–paired with a five-speed manual transmission–generates 82 hp of power and a torque of 115 Nm. And the one powered by a turbocharged engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission that generates a power of 110 hp and a torque of 190 Nm. The company hasn’t revealed its plan for the automatic transmission.
Furthermore, the company claims that the hatchback will provide an average mileage between 19.4 to 19.8 kmpl, depending on the engine option.
