Posted On: October 24, 2013 By : Contributor in AutolifeTurbo Motors Trading, the sole authorised dealers of Ducati motorcycles in Nepal, has announced the availability of the latest in their iconic Monster line-up, the Monster 1100 EVO in the domestic market. It is one of the most capable motorcycles in Ducati’s line-up.
The 1078cc, L-Twin cylinder, 2 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic air cooled engine rewards you with a maximum power of 100 bhp at 7500 rpm and 103 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with straight cut gears and it has a wet clutch system that works like a race-like ‘slipper’ which reduces the destabilizing effect of the rear-end under aggressive down-shifting. On the chassis side, the main frame is the trademark tubular steel Trellis frame. The front suspension is a 43mm fully adjustable Marzocchi forks while the rear is a progressive with preload and rebound adjustable Sachs monoshock. The front gets the same triple-parabola headlight while the rear gets a LED light unit which is further enhanced by a special diffuser lens to deliver outstanding light clarity. At 188 kg, the bike rides on a pair of fabulous looking 10-spoke Pirelli Diablo Rosso II rubber tyres. The new exhaust system is a lightweight 2-1-2 system two aluminium mufflers equipped with two Lambda probes and an electronically controlled valve which results in excellent torque and engine power.
Instrumentation panel includes a digital unit which houses the Speedometer, rev counter, time, scheduled maintenance warning, oil temperature, trip fuel, lap time, warning light for low oil pressure, fuel level, fuel reserve, neutral, turn signals, ABS warning, over rev counter, DTC, immobilizer and Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) system which is available as an accessory from Ducati Performance. A stopwatch is also available which can be used to store the recorded time after a journey or track session.
The Monster 1100 Evo comes with a standard Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) and includes the famous Ducati Traction Control (DTC) which has been available for the first time on a monster. This system offers a choice of four profiles, each one programmed with a wheel-spin tolerance matched to progressive riding levels of skill graded from one to four. The front and rear disc brakes are combined with the ABS system and come standard with the bike.
The Monster 1100 EVO will be available in Red with White Stripe or Diamond Black with Racing Grey Stripe, and will cost NRs.24, 00,000/- only.
