Five most affordable sedan models in Nepal
Posted On: June 6, 2022 By : Shuva Raj KhatriSedans are generally considered safer and more fuel-efficient than SUVs. They are aerodynamically built in a three-box design (engine, cabin, and boot space) and are as long as a typical SUV–offering plenty of cabin and boot space.
In a country dominated by hatchbacks and compact SUVs, sedans can seem like a dying breed in Nepal. However, more than a dozen sedan models are still selling in the market. Here are the five most affordable sedan models available in Nepal.
Tata Tigor / Tigor EV
The Tigor debuted in Nepal in 2017 with a 1.2L Revotron engine and is the most affordable sedan in the country. In 2022, Tata launched the sedan’s electric version. The EV is powered by a 26 kWh battery that is mated to a 54 kW motor, and the vehicle comes at a lower price than its ICE-powered sibling.
Tigor Tigor EV
The petrol-powered sedan comes with a 1.2L Revotron engine–mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic–transmission. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres and provides a mileage of 20.3 kmpl.
The EV can be charged from 0-80% within 8.5 hours via a standard 15 amp home charger, and a fast charger will charge the car in just 60 minutes. A single charge provides a range of 306 km.
