GWM began exporting automobiles in 1998–notably SUVs and pickup trucks–and they are considered one of the first Chinese auto businesses to make their presence on a global scale. The company is involved in distributing its high-quality automobiles through an international network of over 500 distributors in over 60 countries, and they expect to carry on the same tradition in Nepal, becoming an iconic brand name among Nepali customers and establishing a strong legacy. The company’s plans in Nepal are the following: to expand the network to key towns across Nepal; to open a state-of-the-art service centre; and to launch the Ora electric car.
