#ImNotDrivingNepal : A Social Initiative
Posted On: August 1, 2013 By : AutoLife TeamNow that we have told you enough of the legend, here’s some real good news for all F1 enthusiasts. Mika Häkkinen is also the ‘Global Responsible Drinking Ambassador’ for Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One sponsor Johnnie Walker. Nearly 200 years old, Johnnie Walker is the world’s number one Scotch Whisky brand, enjoyed by people in over 190 countries around the world and still walking. Today, Johnnie Walker needs no introduction and is instantly recognised as an icon of personal progress, and as an international, high-status, sophisticated and iconic brand. Since 2005, Johnnie Walker has used its sponsorship of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team as a platform to promote responsible drinking. The Johnnie Walker relationship with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Mika Häkkinen demonstrates that alcoholic beverage companies can effectively promote responsible drinking and change consumer attitudes to over-consumption and drinking and driving. Mika, two-time Formula 1 World Champion, joined the programme in November 2006 and has played a significant role in raising awareness of the importance of not drinking and driving and always staying in control. For the past six years Mika has travelled to over 30 countries spreading the important message of responsible drinking, engaging with stakeholders, government officials, media and consumers. He has also led the Join the Pact campaign, which to date has gathered nearly one million signatures of consumer commitments to never drink and drive.
Of course, the good news. Mika Häkkinen will be visiting Nepal on 25th January 2015 for the same global responsible drinking initiative of Johnnie Walker with the aim of gathering one million pledges by encouraging consumers to make commitment to ‘Never Drink and Drive’. Join two-time F1 World Champion Mika Häkkinen and make the commitment to NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE in Kathmandu!! Johnnie Walker gives you the chance to personally meet Mika and have VIP access to his public appearance in Kathmandu on 25th January, 2014. 20 lucky winners will be announced on the Johnnie Walker Nepal Facebook page by 22nd January, 2014.

“Formula One is a mind game, no question. You have to think so hard sometimes smoke comes out your ears! And if you don’t keep your head in gear the car will overtake you” – Mika Häkkinen
