INTERVIEW: SIRAJ PANT, SUZUKI CARS NEPAL

Suzuki is a brand that pleases everyone. How do you describe the values that set Suzuki apart from its competitors?

Suzuki is a quality driven company, providing products that meets the requirement of the customers. Our customer oriented sales and excellent after sales services has always set the benchmark for others in the industry. At Suzuki, we ensure that customer can easily access our sales and service network throughout the country with our team members upholding highest customer satisfaction commitment.

Is Nepal the biggest market for Suzuki cars? Which segment has a dominating share?

Suzuki is the No.1 selling car brand in the country. We have the highest share in passenger segment and almost monopolistic share in the vans. All this is evident with more than 40000 proud owners driving Suzuki in the country.

How satisfied are you with the performance and sales of the Baleno and Vitara Brezza? Did the sales number exceed the company’s initial forecast?

We had expected Baleno and Brezza to spear head our sales this year and as per our expectations, the sales of both these products have far exceeded our target. The Vitara Brezza has managed to set a new benchmark in its segment by achieving 700 bookings within a month while the Baleno has become one of the highest selling cars in its segment within few months of its introduction.

What are the sales strategy for the products being sold through CG | NXT GEN?  

CG | NXT GEN is a first-of-its-kind concept in the Nepali automobile industry. Driven by a customer centric approach, CG | NXT GEN is a channel that is dedicated in providing highest standards of customer service and satisfaction. We aim to do it visually through world class showroom infrastructure/ambience and emotionally through highest standard of hospitality along with class leading new Suzuki products.

Suzuki recently rolled out its super carry light commercial vehicle in the Indian market. Will the super carry be rolled out in the Nepalese market too?

We will be launching the Super Carry in Nepal very soon. This is a light commercial vehicle that will be powered by a ‘Turbo Charged DDis Engine” that delivers class leading power and mileage. The vehicle offers high payload, high ground clearance and less maintenance cost contributing to the success of business. This will be first time we will be venturing into this segment and with a capable product like Super Carry we believe we can create a stronghold on this segment.

Is Suzuki planning to bring the Ciaz hybrid since hybridisation has been extremely positive for the company?

With the launch of Ciaz hybrid, Suzuki has taken a major step towards hybridization in India. We do have plans to bring in this car but only after careful evaluation of its performance in India.

We understand Maruti Suzuki is launching the Ignis mini-crossover in the first quarter of 2017. Where will this product be pitted against the competition?

Suzuki Ignis is a well-known brand in Nepal. The Ignis nameplate has a legacy of providing utility type feature in small cars with four wheel drive. Carrying on this legacy, Ignis will be the perfect blend of passenger car and utility vehicle in a size that is perfect for city riding.
