KIA Carens launched in India

The six/seven seater MPV comes in five variants: the Premium, the Prestige, the Prestige Plus, the Luxury, and the Luxury Plus, at a starting price of INR 8.99 lakh. The MPV is Kia’s fourth offering in the country and competes with the likes of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.

The Carens gets a minimalist design on the exterior. At the front, one of the main highlights is a digital radiator grille. As for the lights, the MPV gets LED headlamps and DRLs (with a crown jewel) at the front and an LED taillight–all designed to the starmap concept.

The Carens has been offered in three engine options: a 1.5L petrol, a 1.4L turbo-petrol, and a 1.5L diesel engine.

As for the transmission, the engines come paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. Furthermore, the turbo-petrol engine comes mated to a seven-speed DCT. The diesel engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
