LAUNCHED: APRILIA SR150

Ltd, the sole authorized distributors of Piaggio group in Nepal, has further strengthened its position in the scooter segment with the introduction of the Aprilia SR 150 scooter at a starting price of Rs 2,39,900.
The SR 150 is an expression of Aprilia’s sport expertise and offers technological and style features superior to those of its direct competitors in its segment. According to the company, the Aprilia SR150 provides the sensation of sports bikes coupled with the convenience of automatic scooters. It was designed and engineered in Italy and it will be built in the Piaggio Group’s Baramati facility, in the state of Maharashtra, India.
With all the typical features of the brand’s unmistakable sporty personality, the Aprilia SR 150 has an aggressive, sporty style and delivers performance at the top end of its category. Aesthetically, a distinguishing characteristic are the large 14” five-spoke wheels, whose decisive racing design echoes Aprilia’s competition bikes, stars of the MotoGP circuits.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO – PVPL said, “Aprilia SR 150 has created a new category in the two-wheeler segment and is set to capture new horizons in Nepal. The Aprilia SR 150 that has been designed in Italy, will now be shipped to Nepal for the Aprilia fans to experience the superior handling and quality of the product. We hope to replicate the success of the bike in Nepal amongst the youth who admire style and adventure.”
Similarly, Mr. Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar, MD, D-Lifestyles, said,” With the Aprilia SR 150, We at D-Lifestyles Pvt. Ltd will reach out to the urban youth in Nepal, who are not only dynamic but also embrace international culture and are upwardly mobile.”
The Aprilia SR150 is powered by a 150cc SOHC air-cooled four stroke engine. The large telescopic front forks and 14 inch wheels with 120/70 section tyres on front and rear gives an aggressive stance to the scooter. The instrument console is a rather simple with twin pod analogue unit for speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer. The fuel tank capacity is 7 litres and seat height is 775mm. Braking duties are performed by 220mm disc brake at front and 140mm drum brake at the rear.
