MG Astor launched in India

The newcomer SUV has been introduced in India as the country’s first car with a personal AI assistant–which also can take commands in ‘Hinglish’ (Hindi+English).
Design
The Astor’s exterior features a bold celestial grille and LED hawkeye headlamps at the front, and at the rear is a bumper with chrome-accentuated dual exhausts and LED taillamps. The five-seater SUV features a dual-tone–leather upholstered–interiors. Among the seats is a six-way power-adjustable driver seat. Up front is an electronic power-steering wheel and behind it is an embedded 17.78 cm digital cluster. On the dashboard sits a 25.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Performance
The MG Astor comes with two engine options: VTi-TECH and 220TURBO.
The SUV powered by the VTi-TECH engine generates a power of 110 Ps at 6000 rpm and a torque of 144 Nm at 4480 rpm. The engine is mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission .
The one powered by the 220Turbo engine–mated to a six-speed automatic engine–produces 140 Ps of power at 5600 rpm and a torque of 220 Nm at 3600 rpm.

Features
The MG Astor boasts the i-SMART technology, which offers 80-plus connected car features including digital car key, remote control via i-SMART app, live location sharing, voice readout, anti-theft immobilisation, and vehicle-status check.

The vehicle comes with other convenience features such as auto AC and rear AC vents, electronic power-steering with mode adjust (Normal, Urban, and Dynamic), a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start/stop with smart entry, rear 60-40 split, auto headlamps, and five-USB charging ports.

The SUV comes with Autonomous Level-2 safety features such as lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, rear-cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision prevention, speed-assist system, and intelligent headlamp control.
For safety, the vehicle features six airbags, ABD with EBD, electronic-stability program, traction control, hill-hold control, ISOFIX, electric parking brake with auto-hold, 360-degree around view camera, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and security alarm.

The MG Astor will directly rival with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV700, and VW Taigun
