NIU launches two new electric scooters in Nepal

Eco Infinity, the sole authorised distributor of NIU electric scooters in Nepal, has launched two new scooters: the UQi GT and the MQi GT. The recently launched scooters are the second additions in their respective series.

The e-scooters are available for purchase on the Daraz website and app.

Design and features

The UQi GT is built on NIU’s own ‘naked UQI pro frame’, and has a unique aesthetic appeal. The scooter comes with a circular LED headlamp and a short handlebar that features a centrally located LCD dashboard, and turn-indicators on each side.

Unlike other NIU models, the UQi GT gets a split seat–the bigger portion for the rider and a smaller one for the pillion. The e-bike comes with notable features such as remote-control lock/unlock, anti-theft protection, ECU controller, and regenerative braking.

The MQi GT gets a minimal design, as with other scooters in the M-series, but it gets slightly bulky on the rear because of the dual battery. Among the notable features are its halo headlight, smart dashboard, remote-control lock/unlock, two riding modes, anti-theft USB charger, 269 kg load capacity, combined braking system, and regenerative braking. Furthermore, the e-scooter comes integrated with the NIU app, which displays battery health, anti-theft alerts, and real-time location on smartphones.

Battery and performance

The UQi GT comes powered by a 48V 31AH lithium-ion battery paired with a 1.2 kW Bosch motor. The e-scooter takes seven hours to fully charge, and on a full charge it provides a range of 70-80 km.

As for the MQi GT, it comes with a dual 48V 31AH lithium-ion battery–paired with a 3 kW Bosch motor–that takes four hours to charge fully. On a full charge, the e-scooter provides a range between 90-130 km. It can speed up to 40-75 kmph.
