Peugeot launches Partner Tepee EV in Nepal

Shangrila Motors Pvt Ltd, authorised distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Nepal, has launched the all-new Partner Tepee Electric. It is the first electric vehicle from Peugeot Group.

First introduced in 2017, the Peugeot Partner Tepee promises a level of versatility and driving experience that is unmatched by other EVs in the market.

It is equipped with a powerful electric motor that generates 67 HP and 200 Nm of torque with a max speed of 110kmph. Combined with a 22kWh Li-ion battery, the Partner Tepee EV claims to have a range of 170km on a full charge.

But the most interesting aspect of the new Partner Tepee EV is the roomy nature of the vehicle. It is a well-equipped MPV that seats five while remaining comfortable and practical. Aside from the driver and front passenger, there is plenty of room for three adults in the rear and the rear seats can also be reclined for additional comfort. The Partner Tepee EV boasts one of the best boot volumes in the category with up to 1,350 litres when fully loaded with five people or 3,000 litres with two people and the rear seats removed.

The vehicle offers superb modularity as you can easily remove the three seats in the rear to get a flat floor, letting you use the Partner Tepee for all kinds of activities. With sliding doors on either side along with a tall roof, you can transport large objects easily. The company is positioning the EV as a perfect choice for families, businesses and hotels.

Most EVs sold in Nepal have poor ground clearance but the Partner Tepee EV has an impressive 200mm of ground clearance. This means that you can have fun zooming around on almost all roads without worrying about the car bottoming out on humps and potholes.

The new EV from Peugeot also offers a wide range of features to ensure a safe and fun ride. ABS, brake assist, driver and front passenger airbags, as well as side curtain airbags, come as standard. The Partner Tepee EV also features a large 7-inch touch screen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard along with DAB digital radio. You get cruise control, manual air-conditioning, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers as well.

And to simplify the parking experience, the Partner Tepee EV is fitted with a rearview camera as standard.

The launch comes amid an uncertain period for electric vehicles (EVs) in the country with the government recently raising taxes on EVs. The price hike was announced by Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada during the budget announcement for fiscal year 2020/21. Prices of EVs are expected to soar moving forward but Shangrila Motors is bucking the trend by offering the Partner Tepee EV at a pre-budget price of Rs 5,500,000.

The price is valid while stocks last.
