Yamaha Nepal showcases two new R15 modelsPosted On: May 2, 2022 By : AutoLife Team
Yamaha Nepal has introduced two new R15 models–the V4 and the M–in Nepal. MAW Enterprises, the official distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, was planning to roll out these models for a while, and now the bikes are up on display at its ongoing ‘Maha Exchange Mela’.
The new-gen R15 bikes have a stylish sport body, featuring fully revamped styling — inspired by the superbike YZF-R1. The overall design remains the same as of its predecessor models’; however, the new models get new redesigned bi-functional LED headlights (with DRLs).
Although the R15M and V4 share the same frame, only the R15M features new graphics, a Yamaha 3D emblem, and a special seat.
Powering the new R15 models is the same 155cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC engine as its predecessor’s that generates a power of 13.5 kW at 10000 rpm and a torque of 14.2 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and comes with a traction-control system, quick shifter, Variable Valves Actuation (VVA), and Assist and Slipper Clutch (ASC).
The new bikes come equipped with a multi-function LCD instrument cluster–integrated with Y-connect app–that displays a gear-shift indicator, fuel-consumption indicator, shift-timing light, VVA indicator, traction control indicator, app connectivity status, call alerts, sms and email, phone battery level, and clock.
Furthermore, the app provides information related to fuel consumption, maintenance recommendations, last parking locations, malfunction notifications, revs dashboard, and ranking on smartphones.
The bike’s other notable features include two riding modes: Street and Track, dual-channel ABS, aluminum swingarm, dual-horn, and side-stand engine cutt-off switch.
