2022 Renault Kiger launched in India

Renault has launched the 2022 version of the Kiger in India. The new Kiger, powered by a 1.0L energy/turbocharged engine, gets new styling enhancements, new colour options, and more convenience features. The compact SUV comes in five variants, at a starting price of INR 5.84 lakh and goes up to INR 10.39 lakh.

The new Kiger comes with almost no exterior changes in the standard model; however, the top variant gets some cosmetic changes such as a chrome-inserted tailgate, front skid plate, ‘TURBO’ door decals, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

On the inside, the top variant comes with a three-spoke steering wheel, quilted embossed seats, and red fade dashboard accents, as added features. The SUV comes with a 3.5-inch instrument cluster as standard, which is upgraded to 7-inch in the top model.

For infotainment, the SUV comes with an 8-inch floating touchscreen display (compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto) for the higher variants.

The new Kiger, like its older version, is offered with two engine options: a 1.0L turbo and a 1.0L energy.

The 1.0L turbo engine–mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or an X-TRONIC CVT–generates a maximum power of 98 hp and a torque of 152-160 Nm.

The 1.0L energy engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual or an EASY-R AMT transmission, which generates 71 hp of power and 96 Nm of torque.
