SPOTLIGHT: Jawa Perak
Posted On: May 10, 2021 By : AutoLife TeamAfter receiving tremendous feedback for their first two models, Jawa and Forty-Two, Agni Moto Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the sole distributor of Jawa Motorcycles in Nepal, have launched their third model, the Perak, at a price of NPR 750,000. The company website states that the “Perak is a custom factory Bobber-styled motorcycle with more power and better hardware than Forty-two.”

The new offering from Jawa comes with a bigger, 344cc single-cylinder, BS6 compliant, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC engine that churns out 30.64BHP of power and 32.74NM of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, and the bike has a claimed 0-60KMPH of 3.74 seconds.
With its retro bobber-styled look, the Perak sure looks different from the pack. This Jawa comes standard in a gorgeous matte-black colour scheme with 17- and 18-inch spoked wheels at the back and front, respectively. The bobber-esque look is completed by the large fender, tan-shaded single floating seat, bar-end mirrors, and low-slung exhaust. The tail light, which is hard to miss, is cleverly integrated below the rider’s seat.
At the front, the Perak is similar to the Forty-Two, with its retro back-to-the-basics single-pod instrument console and the Jawa logo just below the centre. The suspension duties at the front are taken care of by telescopic shocks, while the back gets an adjustable mono-shock. As for brakes, the bike comes with disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Supporting the whole structure is a newly designed frame and swingarm made specifically for the Perak. The Perak has a tank size of 14 litres and a claimed mileage of around 28KMPL and 33KMPL in cities and on highways, respectively.

“The Jawa Perak breaks the norms of conventional motorcycling and elevates the standards by quite a few notches with its distinctive ‘factory custom’ styling, dark demeanor and the quintessential single-seater ‘bobber’ stance,” says Sharad Mishra, General Manager of Agni Moto Inc. “Packed with the latest technology, the motorcycle offers a superlative degree of performance and handling to delight riders across various terrains. We are proud to present this modern marvel to the bike enthusiasts in the country.”

On the whole, the Perak is aesthetically striking and has promising specs. We’ll be coming out with the full review once we get the bike on our hands.
The Perak is available for NPR 750,000 at all Jawa Motorcycle dealerships across Nepal.
