Tata Nexon EV Prime unveiled in Nepal

Tata Motors has unveiled the new Nexon EV Prime at the ongoing NADA EV expo 2022. The new vehicle is a rebadged version of the outgoing Nexon EV models; it comes with minimal design changes and new added features that are inherited from the Nexon EV Max.

Design and features 

The Nexon EV Prime’s overall design remains the same as its predecessors’. However, the EV gets a few new styling updates, such as dual-tone body colour, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front DRLs, and EV badging. Inside, the new EV gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 7-inch infotainment system, and 60:40 split seats, depending on the variant.

The new EV comes with new features such as cruise control, multi-mode regenerative braking system, indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and smartwatch-integrated connectivity feature. Furthermore, the EV comes with other notable features such as an electric sunroof (with tilt function), fully automatic temperature control, cruise control, remote central lock, smart key with push-button start, USB charging port, rain-sensing wipers, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and stability control, and reverse parking assist, among others.


Battery and specifications

The Nexon EV Prime is powered by the same 30.2 lithium-ion (liquid-cooled, IP67-rated) battery pack, paired with a 98.4 kW motor, to generate a torque of 245 Nm. The EV can go from 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds.

The EV takes 8.5 hours to charge fully via a 15A wall connector, and via a supercharger, the vehicle can be charged from 0-80% in 60 minutes. On a full charge, the EV provides a range of 312 km. 

Furthermore, the EV comes with a multi-mode regenerative braking system that offers four-levels of regenerative braking, and it can be adjusted through a dedicated switch on the floor console.

Tata currently offers the Nexon EV in five variants: XM, XZ+, XZ+ Lux, XZ+ (Dark edition), XZ+ Lux (Dark edition)–at a starting price of Rs 37.99 lakh.
