Hitting the dirt with BMW Motorrad NepalPosted On: March 4, 2020 By : AutoLife Team
BMW Motorrad Nepal recently organised the “BMW Motorrad GS off-road training” event for enthusiastic off-road riders. The event was specially hosted for the BMW family to prepare them for their off-road adventures. BMW also wants to prove the off-road capabilities of their bikes. 18 G310 GS riders participated in the event. The participants first gathered at the BMW Motorrad showroom at Narayanchaur, Naxal. The riders rode to Lubhu from the showroom, passing through Krishna Pauroti, Ghandehar, Bhadrakali, Sahid gate, Tripureshor, Thapathali, Kupondol, Pulchowk, Mangalbazar, Gworko, Imadol and Siddhipur. The GS riders were lead by BMW GS Motorrad international trainer Ajit Vardawaz for the very first time. The main motive of this event was to give riders knowledge about traffic rules, systematic group riding, off-road adventure riding, riding positions, handling, uphill riding, emergency stopping, emergency braking along with safety riding manoeuvres at the end. Riders were also given information about safety gears and riding equipment. After completing the training, participants received a certificate from Saurav JB Rana, chairman of BMW Motorrad Nepal.
BMW has been organising similar events worldwide. This year, BMW Motorrad Nepal is planning to host another event in March. They also want to promote adventure tourism in Nepal. Their latest offering, the BMW G310 GS opens up a new segment for riders looking for an adventure tourer.
The G310 GS is a capable bike for adventure touring with its high seating position and massive 19-inch front wheel. The G310 GS is powered by a 313 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 34 PS and 28 Nm, which is specially tuned for touring. The G310 GS also looks and handles exactly like its bigger GS siblings. BMW’s GS series is synonymous among riders looking to travel around the world on a motorcycle. The soft suspension on the bike makes the bike glide over potholes and bad patches of the road with ease. The bike is designed to tackle mud, sand and stone.
