New Force Gurkha launched in Nepal

Force Motors has launched the new Force Gurkha in Nepal. Aayam Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd, the official importer of Force vehicles, has launched the new Gurkha, which is built on Mercedes Benz’s G-Wagon platform and comes powered by an FM 2.6L engine that is compliant with BS-VI emission norms.

The Gurkha is offered in four colour options: orange, red, white, green, and grey, at an introductory price of Rs 78.99 lakh.

Design

The boxy style SUV gets a stylish shark grille with a horizontally placed brand badge at the front. The vehicle gets three doors (two on the sides, one at the rear) whose windows provide wider visibility all around. Furthermore, the SUV comes with a matte black air-intake snorkel,  Gurkha’s prominent feature for ensuring its water-wading ability (up to 700mm), by supplying fresh air for combustion.

As for lighting, the vehicle gets circular LED headlamps with (DRLs), fog lamps, and indicators on the bonnet, and at the rear it gets a combination of LED taillight and indicators.

On the interior, the SUV boasts a best in-segment cabin space of 3900 litres. The vehicle can accommodate four people (including the driver) and still manage to provide 500 litres of cargo space.

As for infotainment and connectivity, the vehicle comes equipped with a seven-inch infotainment system (compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto), which is connected to four speakers and features USB, FM, and bluetooth music and calling.

Engine and manoeuvrability

Powering the Gurkha is a Mercedes-derived 2.6L CR CD engine (BSVI compliant) that generates a power of 67 kW (91 hp) at 3200 rpm and a torque of 250 Nm @ 1400-2400 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The vehicle comes with a 4x4x4 drive system, which means the vehicle gets 4×4 high and 4×4 low levers for driving on low-traction roads and on extreme terrains (it has 35-degree gradeability), respectively.
