Toyota set to launch the Corolla Cross Hybrid in Nepal

United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Nepal, has already released the Corolla Cross Hybrid’s price and specification details, ahead of its launch in Nepal.
The new hybrid SUV, which will sell for Rs 19,000 more than the ICE-powered model’s top variant, comes with bigger wheels, an updated instrument cluster, bigger boot space, and better performance and mileage, among others.

Design
The Corolla Cross Hybrid’s overall design remains the same as its petrol-powered sibling’s, which features a double trapezoid radiator grille, LED headlights with DRLs, and fog lamps at the front. And on the rear, the new SUV gets LED rear combination lights. The vehicle stands on 18-inch aluminium wheels.

Inside, the SUV comes with a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted control buttons and leather-upholstered seats featuring an eight-way adjustable driver seat, six-way adjustable co-driver seat, and 60:40 rear seats. On the dashboard, the SUV gets a 7-inch colour instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system (compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto).
Powertrain
Powering the Corolla Cross Hybrid is the same 1.8L, dual VVT-i petrol engine as its ICE-powered sibling’s, but here it is paired with an AC synchronous electric motor that is capable of generating an additional 71 bhp of power and 163 Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine comes mated to a CVT.
The front-wheel drive vehicle gets a smaller fuel tank (36 litres) than its ICE-powered siblings, but it provides a better mileage of 15-20 kmpl.

Features
The premium hybrid SUV comes with a plethora of convenience features such as its automatic AC (dual mode), cruise control, eight-way adjustable driver seat, six-way adjustable co-driver seat, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, smart entry and start system (with panic button), power windows, tilt-and-slide moonroof, and rain-sensing wipers.

For safety and security, the SUV features seven SRS airbags, vehicle-stability control, ABD with brake assist and EBD, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), reverse camera, parking sensors, ISOFIX, immobiliser, and security horn.
Corolla Cross Hybrid price in Nepal
The Corolla Cross Hybrid, powered by a 1.8L petrol-hybrid engine, is priced at Rs 1.57 crore. The SUV will compete with Kia’s Sorento Hybrid and Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV in the Nepali market.
