Yamaha Motor Indonesia has just taken the wraps off the new YZF-R15 Version 3.0 in the Indonesian market. The R15 V3.0 was revealed to the public by Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales. The new R15 will replace the R15 Version 2.0 that was introduced in 2011.

The new R15 V3.0 borrows styling cues from the newly launched YZF-R6.The new R15 looks sharper than the outgoing model with its sleek headlights, sculpted tank, split-seat, aluminium swingarm and all-new R1-inspired LED taillamp. It also gets an all-new digital instrumentation console.

The new Yamaha R15 V3.0 will be powered by an all-new 155.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel-injected engine which delivers 19bhp of max power at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. This unit comes mated to a 6-speed transmission that comes paired with a slipper clutch.

Based on a deltabox frame, the new R15 deploys USD front forks and rear monoshock. It does not get ABS for now, but expect it to be feature in the Indian model. In order to keep the kerb weight down (137 kg), Yamaha has decreased the fuel tank capacity to just 11 litres.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 measures 1,990 mm in length, 725 mm in width and 1,135 mm in height. It gets a wheelbase of 1,325 mm.  The bike will be offered in a choice of three exciting colour options: Racing Blue, Matte Black and Matte Red.

Yamaha will first launch the new R15 in the South-Asian market before bringing it to the Indian market and consequently Nepalese market towards the end of 2017.
