Volkswagen Tiguan facelift launched in India
Posted On: December 8, 2021 By : Shuva Raj KhatriVolkswagen has launched the Tiguan facelift in India at a starting price of INR 31.99 lakh. The all-new SUV, based on the MQB platform, comes powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol-engine mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission.

Design
The updated Tiguan gets new IQ-light LED matrix headlights with LED DRLs at the front and dark red LED rear-combination lamps with new light signatures at the rear. On the inside, the compact SUV gets a premium Vienna leather seat upholstery and on top is a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof.

Upfront is a soft-touch dashboard featuring leather-wrapped 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and behind it is a 25.4cm Hi-Res TFT display digital cockpit with customisable
menus and information. At centre, the car features a 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system (with gesture control) that is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Other interior features include rear AC vents with temperature settings, split-folding rear seat backrest (40:20:40), 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-C charging socket, 30 shades of ambient lighting, and 4 LED reading lights (2 in the front, 2 in the rear).
Engine
The Tiguan facelift will be powered by a 2.0L TSI engine that generates 140 kW of power at 4200-6000 rpm and a torque of 320 Nm at 1500-4100 rpm. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission.
The SUV also has driver-assistance features such as automatic headlamp activation, cruise control (including speed limiter), electromechanical parking brake, auto-hold, paddle shifts, electromechanical speed-sensitive power steering, intelligent four-wheel drive system (4MOTION), drive mode selection (Eco, Normal, and Sport), start-stop system with regenerative braking, and lane-change indicator.

Features
The Tiguan facelift comes with a plethora of convenience features such as air-care climatronic three-zone automatic climate control, eight-way electrically adjustable driver seat with power-adjustable lumbar support, seat and ORVM memory function, front-passenger seat with manual height-adjustment and lumbar support, heated front seats, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, and height-and-reach adjustable steering wheel.
For safety, the Tiguan comes with features such as six airbags, hill-start assist and hill-descent control, driver-alert system (fatigue detection), tyre-pressure monitoring system, reversing camera with active guidelines, park distance control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic differential lock system (EDL), Engine Drag Torque Control ( EDTC ), ISOFIX anchorage points (mounting fixture for two child seats on the rear bench seat), 3-point seatbelts for all seats, height-adjustable front seat belts with pretensioner, and rain sensor.
Volkswagen Tiguan facelift price in Nepal
With the launch in India in late 2021, Volkswagen Nepal might bring the Tiguan facelift in mid-2022 at an expected price of Rs 1.40 crore.
