HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

Vloggers like Casey Neistat and other international motovloggers like Max Wrist and Royal Jordanian etc. motivated me to start my own motovlogging channel. I also used to watch a lot of travel vlogs by different YouTubers just to get a gist for my own videos.

HOW DID YOU COME BY YOUR RIDER NAME?

Well, I’m a serious motorcycle enthusiast. Riding provides me that ‘adrenaline kick’ and I need it to complete my day. Hence, I came up with the name ‘DoseOfRide’ which translates to this passion.

WHICH BIKE DO YOU OWN/ RIDE?

I own a TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO PRODUCE YOUR VIDEOS?

I use an affordable action camera called SJCAM 4000 which you can buy for around 14K. And recently, I have started using Canon 1300D to produce better content.

HOW MUCH PLANNING GOES INTO EACH MOTOVLOG?

Not much! I just think about the concept of video and go with the flow.

WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU REALLY FELT YOU WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH IT?

Well, I felt that I was achieving something when other riders started recognizing me on the streets while riding and telling me what they love about my videos and stuffs. These things motivated me to produce better content everyday.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MOTOVLOGGING? AND THE CHALLENGES TOO.

The most exciting thing about motovlogging is that you can virtually take thousands of people on a ride with you and let them experience different places. The challenges are once you reach a certain point of audience you’ll have to keep uploading more videos to make them satisfied which can be difficult.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE TROLLS?

Ummmm… I just take it as an insulting compliment and sometimes the trolls are educating enough which helps me to improve my video concept and make it awesome for people to watch. If the trolls are not meaningful then I just shake it off!

ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

Be yourself, be active & be awesome. Make wonderful videos that viewers/ subscribers will appreciate watching.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

I have always been an avid traveler. However, due to my hectic full-time job, my travelling goals were not satiated. Hence, I decided to create a motovlogging cum a travel channel in YouTube. After uploading a couple of videos, I was very contented by the fact that I was creating a community that knew me. In the meantime, I started travelling so that I could atleast upload one video per week.

HOW DID YOU COME BY YOUR RIDER NAME?

Well, my nickname was NIK since I was a kid. At first, I wanted to name my YouTube channel to only ‘NIK’ but the online platform didn’t let me. So, I decided to go for “NIK TV” instead.

WHICH BIKE DO YOU OWN/ RIDE?

I own a Yamaha FZs V2.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO PRODUCE YOUR VIDEOS?

I use a GoPro Hero 4 silver which is mounted on my helmet, and a canon G7x for lifestyle vlogging and some cinematic shots.

HOW MUCH PLANNING GOES INTO EACH MOTOVLOG?

I don’t do a lot of planning for my vlogs. I usually think of a title (whether it’s a motovlog or a normal one), then I start recording and go with the momentum.

WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU REALLY FELT YOU WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH IT?

Back in those days, when I started doing motovlogs, the Nepalese motovlogging scene was still at an early stage with less subscribers and opportunities. But, after constantly uploading videos for six months, I noticed a gradual increase in my subscribers and people started recognizing me. It’s really fun to meet your subscribers in reality and get motivated.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MOTOVLOGGING? AND THE CHALLENGES TOO.

The most exciting part of motovlogging is that you are sharing your ride and ideas with a huge audience, and they are enjoying watching that as well. The major challenge has to be the constant uploads as editing one single video takes a lot of time and energy.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE TROLLS?

I simply delete it.

ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

Be awesome, upload consistently and make sure your viewers appreciate watching your videos.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

I always wanted to make motovlogs but I didn’t start any effort to start one. However, on January 2017, after buying a GoPro Hero5 black ,I thought of making one and here I am now!

HOW DID YOU COME BY YOUR RIDER NAME?

As I am addicted to Pinterest, I stumbled upon a photo which had a meaning of the word ‘Orphic’. Orphic means mysterious or beyond ordinary understanding and this sounded quite interesting to me. So I decided to name my motovlogging channel as ‘Orphic’. During my childhood days, I always used to keep the word ‘mysterious’ in front of my surname because it sounded cool in my head. Hence, I decided to adopt the word ‘Orphic rider’ which was later shortened to ‘Orhpic R’.

WHICH BIKE DO YOU OWN/ RIDE?

I own a 2016 KTM Duke 200

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO PRODUCE YOUR VIDEOS?

I use a GoPro hero 5 black, a Canon EOS 700d, and two tripods. I use Sony Vegas pro 13 to edit my videos.

HOW MUCH PLANNING GOES INTO EACH VLOG?

I won’t say a lot because I try to picture the whole vlog even before the recording takes place. This is the reason my vlogs do not require a lot of planning.

WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU REALLY FELT YOU WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH IT?

When I met one of my subscribers after vlogging, I thought this was it and hence, I proceeded ahead.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MOTOVLOGGING? AND THE CHALLENGES TOO.

The most exciting and challenging part of motovlogging is that you will have no idea if your viewers will enjoy your video or not.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE TROLLS?

Sometimes I reply them with a little bit of sarcasm. But mostly I just delete those comments and hide their comments.

ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

Just do what your heart says and make good content videos because it’s all about the content. Last but not the least this world is a mean place so be prepared for that.

AMIT SHRESHTA (RIDE NEPAL)

(Youtube: http://bit.ly/2hBviMD)

HOW DID YOU START MOTOVLOGGING?

I love riding. In the meantime, I stumbled upon some Indian motovloggers and thought why not give it a try. I started creating contents and hence, my motovlogging journey started. The benefit of YouTube is that apart from being a free platform to upload videos, it’s also an effective medium to engage people to ride and explore.

HOW DID YOU COME BY YOUR RIDER NAME?

When I started out, there were only a handful of motovloggers in the country. So, I decided why not to use the name ‘Ride Nepal’ as people will notice both my videos and my country. And I guess I made the right decision.

WHICH BIKE DO YOU OWN/ RIDE?

Currently I own a Honda CBR250R. The best part of this bike is that it’s very comfortable and stable. Despite of the full fairing, the CBR250R is very comfortable for long rides too.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO PRODUCE YOUR VIDEOS?

I have a GoPro Silver 4 and DJI Phantom 3 drone along with my phone. I use the GoPro to shoot almost all of my videos. Similarly, I use the drone to shoot aerial footages and phone when it’s not possible to use GoPro.

HOW MUCH PLANNING GOES INTO EACH VLOG?

Planning goes only for the editing part as I need to decide how I should present my video to my audiences. Usually I don’t plan while shooting the videos.

WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU REALLY FELT YOU WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH IT?

I usually get positive comments from people. But when I was invited by a reputed media house for a feature on their magazine, I decided I should focus more on vlogs now.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MOTOVLOGGING? AND THE CHALLENGES TOO.

The most exciting part is that you get an opportunity to showcase your travels and the challenge has to be the presentation of the vlogs.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE TROLLS?

Initially it was hard, but now I am use to dealing with trolls. I ignore the negative stuffs and try to focus on the positive things to make better content.

ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WANTING TO GET INTO MOTOVLOGGING?

Simply mounting the camera on your helmet won’t make you a motovlogger. You should constantly learn and spread positive awareness.
