Wuling Air EV launched in Nepal at Rs 24.99 lakh | Bookings open

The Bajra Group has revealed the price of its first EV offering–the Wuling Air EV–in Nepal. The mini electric car is offered with either a 30 kW or a 50 kW motor–which can provide a range of up to 300 km. EV Nepal Motors, a subsidiary of the Bajra Group, has introduced the Air EV here at a starting price of Rs 24.99 lakh (for the one with the 30 kW motor). Bookings for the new EV are open at Rs 25,000.

Design and features

The Wuling Air EV is based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, which has been developed under an SAIC-GM-Wuling partnership. The three-door hatchback is offered in two different lengths. The model with a long wheelbase is a four-seater EV that measures 2974 mm long. And the one with a short wheelbase is 2599 mm long and can accommodate two persons. Both models have the same width and height–1505 mm and 1631 mm, respectively.

The Air EV gets a minimalistic design. The hatchback’s front fascia features parallel headlights and a horizontal chrome bar, which further extends to the side-mirrors. The EV is offered in five colour options: blue, green, pink, white, and yellow.

The electric hatchback comes with notable features such as an AC, heater, steering wheel with control buttons, digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and 50:50 split rear seats, depending on the variant.

Battery and specifications

The Wuling Air EV is offered with two lithium-battery options: with a capacity of 17.3 kWh and 28.4 kWh. The rear-wheel drive vehicle comes with either a 30 kW (40 hp) or a 50 kW ( 67 hp) permanent magnet motor. The EV can speed up to 100 kmph, and the top-spec model is expected to provide a maximum range of 300 km.
