Mahindra launches the all-new XUV300 TurboSport series in India

Mahindra has launched the XUV300’s TurboSport model in India. The new TurboSport model is inspired by the Mahindra Super XUV300, the current Indian National Rally Champion (INRC) forerunner and the winner of six national rallies since its rally debut in 2019. The XUV300 TurboSport model is powered by a 1.2-litre mStallionTGDi engine, and it comes with larger dimensions, minor design changes, and new features. The new SUV has been offered in four new colour options, at a starting price of INR 10.35 lakh.

Design and features

Mahindra says the new XUV300 TurboSport model is wider and comes with a longer wheelbase (2600mm) than the outgoing models. The vehicle gets a few new sporty design elements such as new the ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, red grille inserts, and all-black ORVMs. Furthermore, the new SUV is offered in three dual-tone (bronze with black roof, white with black roof, and black with white roof) and one monotone (bronze) colour options.

Inside, the new TurboSport model gets an all-black interior with leatherette-upholstered seats, steering wheel, and gear lever. The SUV comes with convenience features such as an electric sunroof,  dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch infotainment system, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and rear parking camera with adaptive guidelines, among others.

The new SUV, with the maximum G NCAP safety rating, comes with safety features such as six airbags, four disc brakes with ABS, front-parking sensors, ESP with hill-start assist, passenger airbag deactivation switch, ISOFIX seats, and corner braking control.

The TurboSport is powered by a new 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine that generates 128 hp of power at 5000 rpm and a torque of 230 Nm at 1500-3750 rpm. The new TGDi engine is more capable and more efficient than the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine in earlier models. Furthermore, the new SUV comes with a mild-hybrid start-stop system that further improves the vehicle’s fuel efficiency.
