Yamaha R15 M launched in Nepal at Rs 5.80 lakh

Yamaha Nepal has launched the new R15 model–the M–in Nepal. MAW Enterprises, the official distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, had showcased the new model, alongside the V4 in its ‘Maha Exchange Mela’, and now, the bike has been officially launched at a price of Rs 5.80 lakh.

The new-gen R15 M bike has a stylish sport body, featuring fully revamped styling — inspired by the superbike YZF-R1. The overall design remains the same as of its predecessor models’; however, the new bike gets notable updated features such as newly redesigned bi-functional LED headlights (with DRLs) and new graphics, a Yamaha 3D emblem, and a special seat.

Powering the new R15 M is the same 155cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC engine as its predecessor’s, which generates a power of 13.5 kW at 10000 rpm and a torque of 14.2 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and comes with a traction-control system, quick shifter, Variable Valves Actuation (VVA), and Assist and Slipper Clutch (ASC).

The new bike comes equipped with a multi-function LCD instrument cluster–integrated with the Y-connect app–that displays a gear-shift indicator, fuel-consumption indicator, shift-timing light, VVA indicator, traction-control indicator, app-connectivity status, call alerts, sms and email, phone battery level, and clock.

Furthermore, the app provides information related to fuel consumption, maintenance recommendations, last parking locations, malfunction notifications, rev dashboard, and ranking on smartphones.

The bike’s other notable features include two riding modes–Street and Track–dual-channel ABS, aluminium swingarm, dual-horn, and side-stand engine cutt-off switch.
