Hyundai Nepal has launched the 2023 iteration of the well-loved Grand i10 NIOS hatchback, starting at a base price of Rs 29.96 lakh. The new Grand i10 NIOS features fresh design modifications and enhanced features, while its mechanical specifications remain unaltered. This hatchback is available in three different models: Era, Magna, and Sportz, with the Magna variants offering a choice between a manual transmission (MT) or an automated manual transmission (AMT).
Design
The updated Grand i10 NIOS now boasts dimensions of 3815 mm in length, 1680 mm in width, and 1520 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2450 mm. This results in a 10 mm increase in length compared to the previous model, providing improved rear legroom and enhancing the overall spaciousness of the hatchback.
The 2023 Grand i10 NIOS undergoes significant design alterations to its front and rear sections. Diverging from its predecessors, the new hatchback showcases a fresh black radiator grille that seamlessly connects to tri-arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) at the front. On the rear end, the Grand i10 NIOS adopts a new LED taillight configuration, where both sides’ taillights are linked by a horizontal LED strip. Other notable design updates encompass projector halogen headlights and 15-inch diamond-cut steel wheels.
Inside the vehicle, the hatchback features a dual-tone grey-themed interior with newly upholstered leather seats adorned with the ‘NIOS’ logo. The dashboard showcases a three-spoke steering wheel, an eight-inch infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the former digital instrument cluster has been replaced with a new 3.5-inch analog instrument panel equipped with a multifunction display.
Powertrain
The new Grand i10 NIOS retains the identical powertrain as its predecessors. The hatchback is equipped with the same 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine, generating a maximum power of 82 hp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT, depending on the specific variant. With the exception of the base Era model, both the Magna and Sportz variants offer a choice between manual transmission (MT) and automated manual transmission (AMT).
