Neta X soon to be launched in Nepal; price set to start from Rs 52 lakh

Following the success of the Neta V, CG Motors, the official distributor of Neta EVs in Nepal, is gearing up to introduce its second electric SUV–the Neta X–to the Nepalese market. The Neta X is a facelifted version of the Neta U Pro, which made its debut at the 2023 NADA Auto Show. In the Chinese market, this electric SUV is available in four different variants and offers two China Light Text Cycle (CLTC) range options: 401 km and 501 km.

The Neta X carries forward the brand’s design philosophy called “Confidence.” It features a sleek, closed grille and stylish LED headlights on the front, while the rear of the electric SUV retains a design similar to the U Pro, with split LED tail lights connected by a horizontal LED strip. Additionally, the Neta X may be offered in six distinct colours: white, grey, brown, pink, blue, and black. In terms of dimensions, the X model measures 4619 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1628 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2770 mm.

Inside, the electric SUV comes with notable elements such as leather-upholstered seats, black or brown interior colour option, a flat steering wheel, a LCD instrument console, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, among others.

While the company has not disclosed specific details about the Neta X’s powertrain, it is likely to be offered with two battery pack options, similar to the Chinese market: 51.8 kWh and 62 kWh, providing respective ranges of 401 km and 501 km. The Neta X will be powered by a permanent synchronous motor (PMSM) capable of producing a peak power of 120 kW and a peak torque of 210 Nm. Furthermore, the company claims that the electric SUV can reach speeds of up to 150 kmph.

The Neta X might come equipped with notable features such as automatic climate control, rear AC vents, AC, heater, all power windows, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, lane change assist, forward collision warning, ABS with EBD, rear camera and sensors, crash sensors, and speed sensing door locks, among others.

While the company has not announced the official launch date for the Neta X, it is expected to be offered at a starting price of Rs 52 lakh in Nepal. Just as in the Chinese market, the electric SUV may be available in four variants in Nepal. The Neta X will pose competition to existing electric vehicles such as the MG ZS EV and the Kona EV.
