Vaidya Energy, the authorised distributor of Ather scooters in Nepal, has launched their first electric scooter, the 450X, in Nepal. The new electric scooter boasts a sporty design and advanced features, offering two lithium-ion battery options: a 2.9 kWh version with a range of 111 km and a 3.7 kWh version with a range of 150 km. The company has offered the electric scooter in two variants–the Low Range (111 km) and the High Range (150 km)–at Rs 3.85 lakh and Rs 4.20 lakh, respectively.
Design and features
The 450X showcases a sporty design, featuring a sharp, angular front apron with an integrated LED headlight at the front. In the rear, it gets a distinctive LED tail light and a grab rail. This electric scooter is available in six vibrant colors: Cosmic black, Salt green, Space grey, Still white, True Red, and Lunar Grey. In terms of dimensions, the 450X measures 1891 mm in length, 739 mm in width, 1114 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1296 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
The electric scooter comes equipped with a seven-inch TFT touchscreen display, boasting 2 GB of RAM, a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, 16 GB of storage, Android Open Source OS (AOSP), and Bluetooth connectivity. Other notable features may include park assist, auto hold, a 22-liter storage capacity, side-stand sensors, auto indicator cut-off, Emergency Stop Signal, a false safe feature, and disc brakes on both wheels.
Powertrain
The 450X is offered in two lithium-ion IP67-rated battery pack options: a 2.9 kWh and a 3.7 kWh, with a certified range of 111 km and 150 km, respectively. Ather claims that the scooter can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 90 kmph. For charging, the low-range variants can be charged from 0-100% in approximately 8.36 hours via a home charger, while the high-range variants take around 5.45 hours for a full charge. Additionally, the company provides a 3-year or 30,000 km (whichever comes first) battery warranty.
