Design and features
While retaining the familiar silhouette of the standard models, the Special Edition introduces a sportier design. The new bike will feature a new headlight setup similar to the Apache RTR 200 4V, a tube-type handlebar, an aggressive and muscular engine cowl, a unibody seat, new grab rails, and a new bullpup exhaust system resulting in a 1 kg weight reduction.
The Special Edition variant comes equipped with a fully-digital instrument console integrated with TVS SmartXonnect technology. This console provides 60 features such as voice assistance, incoming call alerts, incoming SMS alerts, missed call notifications, navigation assistance, engine temperature indicators, and phone signal strength, among others. Other notable features include LED lighting, red-and-black finished alloy wheels, and adjustable brake and clutch levers, among others.
Powertrain
The Apache RTR 160 4V Special Edition is powered by a 159.7 cc, four-valved, oil-cooled, fuel-injected, SOHC engine that is capable of producing a peak power of 17.06 hp at 9250 rpm and a peak torque of 14.73 Nm at 7250 rpm. For transmission, the engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The new bike will come with three riding modes: Urban, Sport, and Rain. In Urban and Rain modes, the bike can speed up to 103 kmph and in Sport modes, it can achieve a top speed of 114 kmph. Moreover, the inclusion of GTT (Glide Through Technology) enhances the overall riding comfort by allowing smooth cruising at low speeds without the need for constant upshifting or downshifting of gears.
