Kia Seltos Rolls Out Of The Plant

Seltos, the first car manufactured for India, by Kia Motors, rolled out of the Kia’s Plant in Andhra Pradesh, India. Kia announced the mass production after testing the SUV over 20 lakh km in different climate conditions. Kia Motors plans to produce 3,00,000 units of seltos in the first year. 

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kia Motors India Kookhyun Shim and South Korea’s Ambassador to India Shin Bong-kil rolled off the vehicle out of the assembly line. “The Seltos will be BS-VI complaint right from its launch. It will be available in a highly efficient, brand new smart stream engine that will come in three variants: 1.5 Petrol, 1.5 Diesel, and the first in segment 1.4 Turbo Petrol, offering the perfect balance of performance and efficiency” the company said. 

The seltos was launched on August 22 and will be sold in three engine options – 1.5 liter petrol good for 115hp and 144 Nm of torque, a 1.5 diesel that delivers 115hp and 250 Nm of torque and a 140 hp/242Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. Gearbox options for Kia Seltos include a 6-speed manual (all three engines), a 6-speed automatic (on 1.5 diesel ), a 7-speed DCT(on 1.4 turbo-petrol), and CTV (on 1.5 petrol). The inside of the Seltos includes a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster, and an 8-inch head-up display.
