Honda City Hybrid launched at Rs 82 lakh in Nepal

Syakar Trading Company, the sole authorized distributor of Honda cars and motorcycles in Nepal, has launched the brand-new City Hybrid in the Nepalese automotive market. The latest City boasts a fresh design, enhanced features, and is equipped with a hybrid powertrain known as i-MMD (intelligent multi-mode drive). The sedan is available in two versions, the V and the ZX, with prices commencing at Rs 82 lakh.

Design

The 2023 City showcases a sleek and athletic appearance. The sedan boasts Honda’s distinctive solid wing face, highlighted by a diamond-patterned grille adorned with the e:HEV signature blue-H-mark logo, LED headlights, and sporty fog lamps with garnish. Additionally, notable exterior design features include carbon-finished bumpers, three-dimensional wraparound LED tail lights in a Z-shaped configuration, and 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels. Furthermore, the vehicle is available in a choice of six colors: blue, red, white, brown, grey, and silver.

In the interior, the sedan adopts a black-and-ivory color scheme complemented by leather-covered seats. The dashboard includes a three-spoke steering wheel equipped with integrated controls, a seven-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and an eight-inch infotainment system. Notably, this infotainment system now supports wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the City e:HEV model incorporates a fresh carbon fiber pattern instrument panel, a piano black finish on all air conditioning vents, and piano black accents on the steering wheel.

Powertrain

The City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid engine, which is paired with two self-charging electric motors, resulting in a total power output of 122 hp and a peak torque of 253 Nm. The sedan features a 40-liter fuel tank and offers an impressive fuel efficiency of 27.13 kmpl. Moreover, it offers three distinct driving modes:

  1. EV Drive: The motor exclusively relies on the battery for a quiet and emission-free drive.
  2. Hybrid Drive: Both the traction and generator motors collaborate to produce combined power.
  3. Engine Drive: The engine operates in an exceptionally fuel-efficient manner while delivering sufficient power.

Features

The new City is equipped with the comprehensive Honda Sensing Safety System, which encompasses features such as the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow (exclusive to the City e:HEV model), road departure mitigation system, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), lead car departure notification system (a new addition), and automatic high-beam headlights. Furthermore, the sedan offers an extensive set of 37 Honda Connect features, including functions like real-time vehicle tracking, geo-fencing alerts, unauthorized access alerts, locating the parked car, sharing the car’s location, and tire deflation alerts, among others. Additionally, noteworthy features include TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), six airbags, hill start assist, an anti-theft immobilizer with an alarm, and ambient lighting, among others.

Syakar Trading Company, the sole authorised distributor of Honda cars and bikes in Nepal, has officially launched the all-new City e:HEV for the Nepalese market. The company will offer the sedan in two variants: the V and the ZX–at an introductory price of Rs 82 lakh and Rs 88 lakh, respectively.
