Tata Motors has introduced its highly anticipated electric vehicle, the Nexon EV Max, in Nepal. While maintaining the same design characteristics as the standard Nexon EV models, the Nexon EV Max boasts additional features and an enhanced 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing an ARAI-certified range of 437 km. This extended range is a significant improvement over the standard Nexon EV models, which is 125 km more. The introductory price for this new electric vehicle is set at Rs 46.49 lakh.
Design
The Nexon EV Max retains the familiar design of the standard Nexon EV models. It features eye-catching design elements like a dual-tone body color, projector headlamps with tri-arrow DRLs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and EV badging, among other highlights. Additionally, the EV is available in three distinct color options: Intensi-Teal, Pristine White, and Daytona Grey.
The interior of the Nexon EV Max adopts a color scheme of granite black and Makarana beige, and it comes with leather-upholstered seats. The dashboard will be equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel featuring mounted controls, a 7-inch TFT display for the digital instrument console, and a 7-inch infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the EV will feature an electric sunroof.
Powertrain
The Nexon EV Max utilizes Tata Motors’ Ziptron technology for its powertrain. It is equipped with a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a 98.4 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). This combination provides the EV with an ARAI-certified range of 437 km on a single charge. Charging the EV from 0-100% using a 3.3 kWh charger takes approximately 15-16 hours, while using a 7.2 kWh charger reduces the charging time to around 6.5 hours. Additionally, the e-SUV is compatible with a 50 kWh fast charger, which can charge the EV from 0-80% in approximately 56 minutes.
