BYD introduces the new Atto 3 variant with 100 kW motor in Nepal

After unveiling the Atto 3 in Nepal four months ago, BYD is now introducing a new variant of this model. The updated Atto 3 will be equipped with a new 100 kW PMSM motor, representing a 50 kW reduction, while retaining all other specifications and features from the previous models. BYD has launched the new variant at a price of Rs 64.90 lakh, marking a significant Rs 25 lakh reduction compared to the previous models.

Design

The new Atto 3 variants will maintain the same design as its predecessor models. The electric vehicle retains distinctive exterior elements like LED headlights and taillights, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, electrically heated and adjustable side mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels, among other features. Additionally, the car will be available in four distinct colors: Surf blue, Parkour red, Boulder grey, and Ski white.

Inside, the EV features the same 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, leather-upholstered seats, an electric power-assisted steering wheel, and a five-inch digital instrument cluster.

Powertrain

The new variant of the Atto 3 comes equipped with BYD’s 60.4 kWh Blade Battery, paired with a 100 kW PMSM motor, capable of delivering a peak torque of 310 Nm. The company states that the electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.7 seconds. As for charging, using a 7 kW AC charger, the electric crossover requires 9.5 to 10 hours for a full charge, while with an 80 kW DC charger, it can reach 80% charge in around 50 minutes when starting from 0%. On a single charge, the EV offers a range of 420 km.

Features

The new Atto 3’s variant comes equipped with notable features such as automatic emergency braking system with front and rear warning, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless phone charger, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, one-touch open/close tailgate, in-built USB charger, keyless entry and start, seven SRS airbags and ISOFIX child restraint anchorage points ABS, TCS, ESP, HDC, and TPMS, among others.

BYD Atto 3 price in Nepal

Cimex, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has introduced the new variant of the ATTO 3 with a price tag of Rs 64.90 lakh. This electric SUV competes with other electric SUVs in the market, including the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV.
