Yamaha Motor has launched the all-new 2023 R15 M in the Indian market. The updated R15 M features slight design changes and the addition of new features, while its engine specifications remain unchanged. The introductory price for the motorcycle is now set at INR 1.93 lakh.
Design and features
Although the new R15 M retains the familiar R7-inspired design from its previous versions, it has been updated with sleek new LED turn indicators. All other design elements, including the bi-functional LED headlights with DRLs, windshield, split-set seats, a side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels, remain unchanged. Additionally, the motorcycle is still available in the Metallic Grey color scheme as before.
The bike comes equipped with an updated color TFT instrument display that offers Bluetooth connectivity. By installing the Y-Connect mobile app, riders can receive notifications for calls, messages, and emails directly on the instrument cluster. Furthermore, the app offers insights into fuel consumption, maintenance suggestions, the last parked location, and alerts for any malfunctions. Notable additional features include dual-channel ABS, riding modes (Track and Street), an aluminum swingarm, a dual horn, Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), and a side-stand engine cut-off switch.
Engine
The new R15 M retains the identical 155cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC engine from its previous iterations. This engine produces a maximum power output of 18 hp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.2 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed constant mesh gearbox and incorporates several advanced features, including a traction-control system, a quickshifter, and an assist and slipper clutch.
