MG has unveiled its latest electric hatchback, the MG4 EV, at the 2023 NADA Auto Show, running until September 17. This new MG4 EV is available in two variants: the Comfort and the Luxury. The Comfort variant comes equipped with a 51 kWh battery pack that offers a WLTP range of 350 km, while the Luxury variant gets a larger 64 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 435 km. The company has offered the MG4 EV at a starting price of Rs 41.49 lakh.
Design
The new MG4 EV, based on the company’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), has the same dimensions as the company’s ZS EV models. The electric hatchback measures 4287 mm in length, 1836 mm in width, and 1504 mm in height. Furthermore, the MG4 EV gets a wheelbase of 2705 mm and a ground clearance of 150 mm.
The MG4 EV comes with a bold front design, incorporating an active intake grille shutter and LED projector headlights accompanied by LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Moving to the rear, the EV gets arrow-shaped LED tail lights linked together by a horizontal LED light strip. Moreover, the EV is offered in five different colour options: Red, Black, Grey, Blue, and Orange (only for the Luxury models). And for interiors, the electric hatchback comes with notable interior design elements such as: a flat bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, a seven-inch digital instrument console, and a 10.25-inch floating infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The MG4 EV comes with notable features such as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, TPMS, EBA, driving modes (Eco, Sport, Snow, Custom, Standard), 17-inch alloy wheels, hill assist control, disc brakes (on both end), climate control, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 360-degree parking camera, and wireless phone charger, among others.
Powertrain
The new MG4 EV is offered in two different battery packs: a 51 kWh (Comfort variants) and a 64 kWh (Luxury models). The Comfort variants are powered by the 51 kWh battery pack–mated to a 99 kW synchronous motor–that is capable of generating a peak torque of 250 Nm. Meanwhile, the Luxury models are powered by the 64 kWh battery pack, paired with a 150 kW synchronous motor–that produces a torque of 250 Nm. For charging, both the models are compatible with 150 kW DC fast chargers, and on a single charge, the Comfort and the Luxury variants provide a WLTP range of 350 km and 435 km, respectively.

Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd, the authorised importer and distributor of MG vehicles for Nepal, has offered the MG4 EV in two variants–the Comfort and the Luxury–at Rs 41.49 lakh and Rs 58.99 lakh, respectively.
